Overview

What does CCTV Installation include?

We get calls every few weeks from people whose CCTV was installed by someone else - camera facing the wrong wall, cables hanging loose from the ceiling, DVR they have never been able to access on their phone. Honestly, a bad CCTV job is sometimes worse than no CCTV at all because you think you have coverage when you do not. We install systems properly: site visit first, camera positions discussed with you before any drilling, cable pulled through conduit, DVR configured with recording schedule, and your phone connected to the system before we leave. Homes, shops and offices in CIDCO, Garkheda, Jalna Road, Osmanpura - and factories in Waluj and Shendra MIDC.

Process

How does the CCTV Installation process work?

From inquiry to handover. Steps may vary depending on project size and site-specific conditions.

1

Site visit and camera placement plan

We come to site and walk around with you. We check entry points, areas with no coverage, how the light falls at night (matters for camera selection) and where cables can practically be run. We mark the suggested camera positions and explain what each one will cover - so there are no surprises after drilling starts.

2

System recommendation and quotation

After the site visit we give a quotation with hardware and labour broken out separately. A standard 4-camera home system in Aurangabad typically runs from Rs 12,000 to Rs 20,000 depending on camera quality and cable length. Factory systems with longer runs and more cameras are priced based on what the site actually needs.

3

Hardware - we supply or you supply

If you want us to procure, we bring Hikvision, Dahua or CP Plus based on your budget. If you have already bought cameras from somewhere, we install those - we just need to check that your cameras and DVR are compatible before we start. We have seen a few cases where cameras from one shop and DVR from another did not work together.

4

Cable pulling and power wiring

Cable goes through conduit wherever it is exposed - we do not staple cable to walls or leave it hanging loose. In false ceiling areas we route it properly, not just stuff it in and hope for the best. Factory and warehouse jobs use cable trays. Power wiring is done from a central point so you are not dealing with 6 different adapter plugs spread across the wall.

5

Camera mounting and DVR/NVR setup

Each camera goes at the position we agreed on, aimed and locked in place. DVR is setup with recording schedule, motion detection zones configured per camera and a password that only you know. We tell you upfront how many days of footage you can store before it overwrites - if the HDD is undersized for what you want we say so.

6

Remote viewing and handover

We setup remote access on your phone before we leave - not "here is the app, figure it out". We do the DDNS or port forwarding on your router, install the app, add your system and show you the live feed. We also cover a camera lens briefly to check night vision is working. Before leaving we do a quick walkthrough so you know how to play back recordings.

Standards

Indian Standards we align with

Our work for this service is aligned with the following Indian Standards and statutory regulations.

  • IS 732:2019 - Electrical wiring code applied to the power and signal cable installation
  • IP66 rating minimum for all outdoor cameras and junction boxes (weatherproofing)
  • BIS CRS certification for surveillance cameras (mandatory for market in India since 2021)
  • IS 3043:2018 - Earthing applied where the DVR/NVR enclosure or rack requires earth bonding
  • IS 5216 - Safe working procedures followed for any work at height (ladder, scaffolding)
Why Shaats

What differentiates us

Honest differentiators - what we actually do differently.

  • One team for the full job - cable pulling, power wiring, camera mounting, DVR configuration and phone setup. You are not coordinating between a cabling contractor, a hardware shop and a separate technician.
  • We install your own equipment too, no pressure to buy from us. Just let us verify compatibility before we start.
  • Remote access working on your phone before we leave. Every time - we do not hand over a half-configured system.
  • Factory CCTV is routine for us - long cable runs, cable trays, weatherproof housings, outdoor perimeter cameras. Not something we figure out on the spot.
  • We service systems installed by others - if your existing CCTV has problems, call us even if we did not install it.
  • We tell you before drilling if a camera position will not give the coverage you are expecting.
FAQ

Common questions about this service

If your question is not here, WhatsApp us directly - we will give you a straight answer.

What is the difference between a DVR and an NVR system?

DVR systems use coaxial cable and analog cameras - HD-CVI, HD-TVI and AHD are all HD analog formats that work with a DVR. NVR systems use IP cameras on Cat6 cable, and these cameras usually support PoE so one cable handles both power and video. IP gives you higher resolution options and works better for long runs. DVR is simpler and costs less, works perfectly fine for most homes and shops. Honestly for most residential jobs in Aurangabad a good HD DVR system is more than enough - you do not need IP cameras unless you have a large area to cover or specific high-resolution requirements.

How many cameras do I need for my home?

There is no standard answer without seeing the house. A 3-4 BHK independent house in Garkheda or CIDCO typically needs 4 cameras - main gate, front of house, parking and one covering the back or side approach. If you have a compound wall or garden area, 6 cameras. A flat usually needs 2 at most - one at the front door covering the corridor and one inside near a valuables area. We give you a camera count after we see the layout, not before.

Do you supply cameras or only install what we buy?

Both. We source Hikvision, Dahua, CP Plus based on your budget and then install. If you have already bought cameras, we install those. One thing we always ask - if you have bought your own equipment, share the model numbers before we confirm the job. We have seen cases where cameras and DVR bought separately from different shops are not compatible, better to find that out early rather than on the day of installation.

How is the cable run - does it go inside the wall?

In new construction or renovation where walls are still open, yes - we chase cable into the wall for a clean finish. In an existing building we run cable through surface conduit (PVC pipe) fixed to the wall or ceiling. Loose cables draped along the wall or stuffed under carpets is how you end up with systems that fail after the first monsoon. For factories we use cable trays.

How do I view my cameras on my phone?

This is part of every installation, we do not handover and leave. We connect DVR to your router, setup DDNS so your cameras have a fixed address even when your ISP changes the IP, install the app on your phone and verify you can see live footage before we go. Hikvision uses iVMS-4500, Dahua uses gDMSS, CP Plus has CP Plus Vision - we handle the app setup for whichever brand. If you get a new router or change your broadband provider later and remote access stops working, call us - we can sort it as a service call.

How many days of recording can I store?

Depends on HDD size, number of cameras and the resolution you are recording at. A 4-camera 1080p system set to record only on motion detection gives roughly 15 to 20 days on 1 TB. The same setup recording continuously drops to around 7 days per TB. We calculate this at quotation stage and tell you exactly how many days you are getting - if you want longer storage we size the HDD accordingly.

Do you install CCTV for factories and warehouses?

Yes, we do CCTV for factories regularly. Factory jobs are different from a home - less cameras but more complex: cable runs of 50 to 100 metres are common inside a factory floor, outdoor cameras on roof or perimeter fencing, cable trays for internal runs, sometimes dust-proof housings depending on the environment. We have done CCTV in Waluj MIDC and Shendra MIDC units - entry gates, loading docks, perimeter and production floor monitoring.

What maintenance does a CCTV system need?

A CCTV system that runs a full year without any check usually has at least one problem by then. Lens gets dusty or covered with spider webs, IR stops working properly, a cable connector starts corroding after the monsoon, HDD gets bad sectors. An annual maintenance visit covers: cleaning lens and housing, checking IR night vision, inspecting cables and connectors especially outdoor runs, checking HDD health and remaining storage, and verifying remote access is still working. We also check if cameras have shifted slightly - it happens from vibration and nearby construction work. If the HDD is failing or a camera is dying we tell you before it stops recording at the worst possible moment.

Can you service a CCTV system that someone else installed?

Yes. Tell us the DVR brand and model and describe what is happening - we can usually diagnose and fix camera faults, cable failures, DVR issues or remote access problems regardless of who originally installed it. The one situation where we cannot help easily is when the installer has locked DVR with a password and not given it to you - in that case we discuss what options are available.
